What’s the deal?
Inspired by Ireland’s long standing Tidy Towns contest, the Town of Warren is challenging its residents, business owners, and town employees to a beautification showdown! Let’s work together to improve the look, safety, and accessibility of Warren’s downtown and neighborhoods. Let’s nurture our community pride and spirit! The Shipshape Challenge calls all Warren residents to come together through volunteerism, hard work and creativity to foster a greater sense of town ownership.
Our Purpose
The Shipshape Challenge’s mission is to foster lively community spirit in the Town of Warren through friendly competition among the people who live and work here. The immediate goals of The Challenge are to increase tourism, enhance public relations, and create a more business-friendly climate. It is our hope that The Challenge enhances the quality of life for residents, increases property values and revenues for the town, and helps Warren attract new citizens while engaging and supporting the people who already call it home.
Our Values
We believe all residents deserve a beautiful space to come home to; that merchants should work hand-in-hand with their neighbors to build a better, more supportive place to do business; that all children deserve to play in clean, tidy neighborhoods; and that current and future Warrenites deserve well-kept public spaces, including the waterfront, town parks, and the historic landmarks that make Warren unique. We believe Warren’s future lies in the smart, sustainable growth of its current assets: creative, hardworking residents, a diverse business community, and a compelling historical foundation.
